What I have come to most appreciate about this work, after many years, is the opportunity to become a participant in the unfolding of another’s journey; and a guide in helping someone find their truth and their innate capacities for healing.  In working with sexual trauma and co-facilitating Tapestries and the ongoing support groups, I have witnessed the resilience and strength of the human spirit. I have learned about the healing power of connection; the power of being heard and accepted; and the power of witnessing how others find their way, however imperfectly.

I view healing and therapy from the experiential perspective that comes through our connections to ourselves and one another.  It is this connectedness that is significantly wounded during sexual trauma.  I received intensive training in sexual abuse treatment and designed a successful pilot program which became a precursor to Tapestries.  With years of experience in substance abuse treatment, both as a recreational therapist and a clinical social worker, I have come to value the capacity for healing that is inherent in each and every one of us.  It is an honor and privilege to be part of the healing that takes place mentally, emotionally, relationally and spiritually through Tapestries.
